Enterprise architecture with system integration and API connections in an IT operations center

System integration for enterprise platforms

flowtify integrates with your existing IT landscape, through standard protocols, documented APIs, and project-based connections.

Connecting to your existing IT landscape

The flowtify platform connects to existing systems through a REST API, webhooks, identity providers for SSO (LDAP, SAML 2.0, OAuth), and MQTT for sensor hardware. Specific integrations are scoped and delivered as projects. Beyond a certain operational scale, no application stays isolated. In day-to-day operations, many systems interact: identity providers, device management, ERP systems, sensors, and downstream analytics infrastructure.

With the flowtify platform, you build on standard software that runs thousands of times in daily operations, and you connect it to your existing IT infrastructure on your terms.

Which connections make sense, and at what depth, is clarified at the start of each project together with your IT and business stakeholders.

Typical areas of system integration

These areas summarize over ten years of experience integrating with operational IT landscapes. Which of them are relevant to you depends on your infrastructure and your goals.

Identity & Access Management

Connecting your identity providers for centralized user management and Single Sign-On. Access rights follow your existing role structure.

Used in projects

SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, LDAP

ERP, merchandise management, and meal planning

Structured data exchange between flowtify and your ERP systems. Meal plan imports, article master synchronization, or supplier information are implemented per project.

Used in projects

ERP and BI systems, e.g. Microsoft Power BI, custom in-house solutions

IoT protocols and sensors

Connecting your existing sensors via MQTT, REST API, or manufacturer-specific interfaces. flowtify is not tied to specific sensor hardware. We integrate your existing sensors on a per-project basis, or deliver preconfigured Milesight hardware on request.

Used in projects

Milesight, FrigoData Wurm, Tempcontrol, GesyTec, custom gateways

Data export via API and webhooks

We provide documented REST endpoints and webhook events. Use them to feed your BI and data lake infrastructure. The analytics layer is built and maintained by you or your BI partner.

Used in projects

REST, Webhooks, OpenAPI / Swagger

A specific integration is evaluated and commissioned as a paid project. Integrations usually require alignment with the relevant stakeholders and their approvals.

Hardware and data quality in multi-site rollouts

For sensor integrations and MDM rollouts, much is decided at the hardware level. Which gateways, which network topology, which device models, and which configuration strategy fits your site landscape is clarified per project.

A second layer is the data quality of existing hardware. From multi-site integrations we know the typical challenges: sensors send different data depending on the site, devices get renamed or replaced, measurement intervals and defrost cycles are recorded inconsistently. To ensure data arrives reliably in flowtify, we support the structuring as part of the project.

Embedded in your operational multi-system reality

In large retail networks, integration is rarely just about technical connectivity. It is about how flowtify fits into a grown landscape of internal systems, so that staff and IT teams do not have to handle additional complexity.

Multi-country and federal master data

In rollouts across multiple countries or federal structures, master data is the actual challenge. Opening hours differ by country, holidays are handled differently at regional or federal levels, and unplanned store closures as well as planned new openings on specific dates must propagate through the system automatically. We have solved these typical challenges together with our customers in international rollouts.

Integration with workflow tools

In food retail, customer-owned "task managers" are often used, bundling tasks from multiple internal systems and showing staff in a consolidated view what comes next. flowtify can be docked into such platforms. Tasks appear alongside all other duties in one place. App switching is no longer necessary.

Scalable architecture for multi-site operations

flowtify runs on a multi-tenant architecture in Microsoft Azure, data center Frankfurt. Scaling is achieved not by parallel instances per customer, but through a shared architecture with strict tenant separation.

This enables fast rollouts, consistent updates, and reliable performance even across thousands of locations. Configurations, requirements, and module activations can be managed centrally, without maintaining each site individually.
